THE TEAM

WEEGY 0.5 player
Hi, My name is Lee Davies, also known as Weegy, and I'm a 0.5 player. I'm the treasurer and manager of the North Wales Dragons. Before I joined the team I played for the Cardiff Pirates, and have been playing wheelchair rugby for 16 years. I am a C5 tetraplegic and before I had my accident I was a professional jockey.

JIM 0.5 player
Hi, I'm Jim Harrison and I'm a 0.5 player. I've been playing since December 2006. Before my accident I was a semi-professional football player. I'm a bit of a lady's man and I'm hoping to meet some nice women through my involvement in this sport.

MATT 1.0 player
My name's Matt and I'm the baby of the team at just 21. I'm also the secretary. I'm a 1.0 player. I had my accident in July 2005 and also play tennis, swim weekly and take part in athletics but nothing compares to the excitement and adrenalin rush of wheelchair rugby. I'm currently looking for a busty blonde lady friend, so any interested girls can come and see me for an interview at weekly training.

JAMIE 1.5 player (under review)
Hi, I'm Jamie and I joined the team in November 2007. I'm a 1.5 player under review. I had my accident in 2006 when I fell off my surf board and went head first into the sea bed, and had only been out of rehab for 4 months when I joined the team. Since then I have played in a league match at Caernarfon where I scored my first 4 goals. It's a fantastic sport to be involved in and I highly recommend it. I'm C6/7 incomplete tetraplegic.

JAMES 2.0 player
Hi, I'm James Price, 2.0 player and I'm the Chairman for the team but this doesn't mean I actually do any work, I just turn up and think I look good. I've been playing for 5 years, professionally for 1 year with the elite squad. I went to the World Championships in New Zealand 2006 and I'm the manager of the Great Britain team's development squad. I broke my neck diving in 1999 and I'm a C6/7 tetraplegic.

TONY 2.0 player
Hi, my name is Tony Stackhouse, I'm a 2.0 player, and I've been playing wheelchair rugby since 1994. I'm the coach and I play for Great Britian, I've recently been selected to go to America with Great Britain in January. I went to the Sydney and Athens Paralympics, and have 3 European fold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze. This is a very bad photo of me, I really am much more attractive in person so feel free to join us on a Friday at Plas Madoc to see for yourself.

RAFA 2.0 player
Hi, I'm Rafa and I'm 31, I'm a 2.0 player. I've recently moved to England from Poland with my girlfriend, Karolina. I had my accident in 1999, when I broke my neck jumping on a bouncing pillow on the beach. I'm a C6/7 tetraplegic. I have been playing rugby for 6 years and have been in the Polish national rugby team for 2 years. I swim and go to the gym regularly, and will become a dad in 3 months.

KEV 2.5 player
I'm Kevin, I'm a 2.5 player, and I've been playing wheelchair rugby since the Dragons started. I had my accident in 1997 when I dived into the shallow end of a swimming pool so the moral of my story is only jump in the deep end! I swim regularly and play pool. I live in Wrexham and was very glad to here that someone had finally started a wheelchair rugby team in the area.

ROY 2.5 player
Hi, I'm Roy, I'm a 2.5 player and I played rugby in the 1996 Atlanta paralympics. I played for the Cardiff Pirates in 2001 and am now helping this new team. Even though I'm English I love playing for the North Wales Dragons. I have been know to score both on and off the court!

FOSSY 4.0 player (under review)
Hi, I'm Mark, know as Fossy, a 4.0 player although I used to be a 3.5 and I was born with a congenital deformity. I've played alot of wheelchair sports including basketball and volleyball, I have played for the Great Britain wheelchair rugby team and am currently classified out of the sport for being too able, which means I can't play in any major tournaments although I hope this will be rectified soon.

EMMA Physio
Hi, my name is Emma and I'm the team's physio. I work at Oswestry Spinal Unit as a physio for people with spinal injuries. I've been a helper for the sport for about 8 years, and got involved with the Dragons through my partner, Mark Fossbrook. I usually go away with the team when they attend tournaments and can highly recommend the social side of the sport.

GARY Volunteer
My name is Gary Vaughan and I'm a voluntary helper for the team. I'm a paraplegic which unfortunately means I can't play myself as I do not have an upper limb impairment. I'm a retired sportsman and used to ski, and play tennis a sledge hockey. I'm impressed by the enthusiasm shown by all the players in the team, and enjoy my new role in the sport.

JIM Volunteer
Hello, I'm Jim Pickard and I volunteer as a helper for the team. I used to be President of Oswestry Rugby Club and was introduced to wheelchair rugby through Gary Vaughan. After seeing the sport for the first time I was amazed to see how professional it is. It's a great sport for spectators and I recommend anyone who is interested to come along and watch.

PEEKY Volunteer
Hi, I'm Peeky and I'm a volunteer for the Dragons. As you can see I ate all the pies and drank all the Guinness. I'm always at training come rain or shine, and love going on away weekends with the team.
